POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION

The Program Area Manager reports hierarchically to the Regional Program Manager. He / She is responsible for;

  • Supervises the Cluster Project Coordinator (s) and Finance & Admin Officer
  • Actively participate in the resource mobilization for programs and Cluster-based development, continuity and sustainability
  • Oversight of Cluster based Knowledge Management platform that responds to internal and external information needs
  • Implementation of the Cluster capacity development strategy plan to maximize the use of resources and address capacity gaps in collaboration with the Regional Program Manager and Support Office
  • Development and nurturing of strategic partnerships and networks in line with regional priorities in support of effective program delivery

Job Summary

The Program Area Manager comprehensively manages and coordinates the (technical - human, administrative and financial) development, design, planning, implementation and evaluation of the FH Uganda project in a particular Cluster while mentoring field staff at all stages to ensure successful implementation of the project. In all activities, s/he fosters collaboration within the Cluster with Support Office, Local government and partners by ensuring the delivery of relevant and quality administrative, policy and programming support.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

v Key Result #1: Effective oversight & coordination of planning, implementation and monitoring of the Cluster program

v Key Result #2: Ensuring that project beneficiaries are properly identified/ selected, organized into producer groups and trained/ supported with required farm inputs.

v Key Result #3: Liaison with Donor, Local Government Agencies, local NGOs and Religious Organizations

v Key Result #4: Program Administration/Finance

v Key Result #5: Human Capital (Personnel Management)

v Key Result #6: Asset management and Stewardship

v Key Result #7: Coordination, Monitoring, and reporting of project activities

v Key Result#8:** Safety and compliance

Qualification/Requirements:

· University degree in Social works and social Administration, Agriculture, Project Planning &Management, Business Administration or other related disciplines in humanities. A master’s Degree is an added advantage.

· A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a managerial position, delivering agriculture focused programs to improve livelihoods in Uganda, preferably in refugee settings.

· Experience with commonly used tools for market analysis and program design such as sub-sector analysis, gross margin analysis and business planning.

· Understand, respect and practice the set of organization’s shared vision, mission and values, including mutual respect, equity and justice; honesty and transparency; solidarity with the poor and marginalized people, sensitivity to gender and ethnic minority issues, courage of conviction; happiness; humility and Christianity

· High level integrity and initiative taking and positive attitude towards learning and sharing.

· Working knowledge of budget management

· Valid riding license and ability to ride motorcycle.

· Ability to establish strong relationships with the local leaders, community and government representatives will be vital.

· Must have team building skills, personnel management and supervision skills.
