EngenderHealth is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates for the following full-time staff positions for an anticipated five-year USAID project named, Expanding and Strengthening Family Planning Service Options in Uganda. The following project staff will be based in Kampala or field offices providing technical assistance to the Government of Uganda (GOU), civil society and community-based organizations and the private sector at the community, facility, district, and national levels. The goal of the project is to increase use of equitable, quality and sustainable family planning (FP) services through increased FP service delivery options and demand for modern contraception including long-acting reversible contraception (LARCs) and permanent methods (PMs). Cross cutting themes include gender programing and youth sexual reproductive health (SRH) services. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for managing financial functions including budgeting, financial reporting, and financial management of subawardees. Certified public accountancy or the equivalent professional qualifications are a plus, with a Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience as a financial officer, preferably in a multi-office environment, is required. Demonstrated experience with USAID financial reporting and management, as well as managing subawards and grants to local NGOs, is preferred. S/he must have experience in financial systems implementation and coordinating financial field office operations in developing countries. Proficiency in the use of accounting software programs such as QuickBooks, SAGE, and Excel are a must along with proficiency in creating and using spreadsheets, general ledger accounting packages, database and word processing software. Ability to work longer hours during peak times such as the year-end close and preparation for audit is required.
