EngenderHealth is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates for the following full-time staff positions for an anticipated five-year USAID project named, Expanding and Strengthening Family Planning Service Options in Uganda. The following project staff will be based in Kampala or field offices providing technical assistance to the Government of Uganda (GOU), civil society and community-based organizations and the private sector at the community, facility, district, and national levels. The goal of the project is to increase use of equitable, quality and sustainable family planning (FP) services through increased FP service delivery options and demand for modern contraception including long-acting reversible contraception (LARCs) and permanent methods (PMs). Cross cutting themes include gender programing and youth sexual reproductive health (SRH) services. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
The FP Project Officer will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of project activities to expand access and increase the utilization of integrated high-quality FP services. S/he will provide assistance and support in a variety of technical areas such as training and capacity building for various cadres of health workers and ensuring compliance with internationally accepted clinical standards and practices, MOH and EngenderHealth clinical policies, and ensuring clinical quality of activities. S/he must have a Master’s degree in public health or a related field or a clinical degree (MD, nursing, midwifery), with five years of experience in health or family planning programs especially in programming, development and management. S/he must also have three years of experience working with NGOs in planning, designing, budgeting, managing, evaluating and documenting health programs. Familiarity with USAID family planning or other health programs is preferred. The ability and willingness to travel within project-supported districts to monitor progress and provide technical assistance to project activities is required.
