JOB TITLE: PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

LOCATION: IRC- BIDIBIDI YUMBE

REPORTS TO: HEALTH MANAGER

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the continuous and regular well-functioning of the work processes and promoting the achievement of the quality & efficiency of the pharmacy department with the ultimate objective of ensuring quality patient care, in close cooperation with the Health Manager and the Pharmacist in line with the overall organizational strategic goals and mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating project activities that involve the management and storage of commodities including pharmaceutical supplies and medical equipment.
  • Ensuring the availability of cost-effective, safe, efficacious and rational use of pharmaceutical products through the use of different tools e.g SPARS.
  • Strengthening the process of Logistics management of supplies in alignment with MOH guidelines.
  • Ensure tracking and accountability for all medical and pharmaceutical products as well as related supplies used by the health facilities.
  • Support forecasting and quantification of supplies obtained from the warehouse.
  • Support good storage and distribution practices at both warehouse and facilities.
  • Prepare monthly reports for both the donors and internally as IRC.
  • Use and regular updating of the available Pharma inventory systems like Rx solution.

Qualifications

  • Have a Diploma in Pharmacy from recognized institution.
  • Active Registration with the Allied Medical Practitioners Council with proof of practicing license.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a NGO setting.
  • Previous work with an NGO in similar programs.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Ability to enhance good interpersonal relationship.
  • Good knowledge and application of Microsoft word, Excel and Power Point.
