In Uganda, we implement programmes in five thematic programme areas of Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Education, Child Poverty, Health and Nutrition in Development and Emergency contexts. Role Purpose:
The post holder provides overall programmatic and operational lead and management including; planning, implementation, capacity enhancement, monitoring/ evaluation and reporting both internally (within SCI) and externally with stakeholders. The person is accountable for overall coordination and oversight delivery of the award to be implemented. The Program Manager may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.

Location: Multiple Locations

Qualification and Experience;

Essential
* Bachelor’s degree, and preferably post-graduate university degree, in subject related to education or project planning and management.
* At least 5 years demonstrated experience in Project planning and management, particularly in a humanitarian context
* Technical expertise in either education or child protection in emergencies.
* Demonstrated experience in managing education or child protection consortium projects
* Demonstrated experience in documentation and Donor reporting
* Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills
* Ability to work both in an advisory and a hands on implementation capacity
* Excellent communication skills

Desirable
* Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff
* Previous experience of managing a team
* Experience of representation, including Cluster coordination, and ability to represent effectively in external forums
