Job Primary Purpose

The Communications and Fundraising Co-ordinator’s main responsibility is executing and coordinating all internal and external communications activities for Child’s i Foundation to build a worldwide community of supporters to give love, time and money to support Child’s i Foundation. The role will also assist in raising the national and international profile of CiF working closely with the programmes teams to share CiF’s story in real time.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Communications for Child’s i Foundation ● Assist in planning, developing, and lead in distributing all communications and marketing materials, ensuring that CiF’s vision, mission and programmes are accurately and consistently communicated, whilst ensuring that strict adherence to the brand identity and image policy is maintained. ● Update and maintain the CiF website, blog and social media channels in adherence to the Communication Plan. ● Produce regular case studies (including working to help produce films) to show the impact of our work with families. ● Assist with writing regular press releases and identify PR and marketing opportunities to raise awareness of Child’s i Foundation, and be the main point of contact for all press enquiries. ● Take responsibility for building and backing up CiF photographic library by sourcing strong images for use across all communications channels. Ensure that permission to photograph individuals (especially children) is secured and details kept on file, organised with media names and expiry dates. ● Produce the quarterly CiF newsletter. ● Take an active lead on Facebook Workplace and support CiF staff to share exciting stories to share with worldwide community. ● Work closely with the Communications, Advocacy, and Fundraising Department. Participate in meetings to brainstorm ideas for videos and stories for latest blogs, advocacy and fundraising appeals.

Fundraising and donor communications ● Support the UK team to manage donor portfolio in a way in which excellent and sustainable relationships are maintained and develop and sustain a highly personalised donor care programme for all CiF’s donors including regular givers, mid and high net worths and corporate partners. ● Assist with the development and lead the implementation of the Ugandan fundraising strategy to achieve set fundraising targets. ● Support CiF UK to deliver timely progress reports and updates to all CiF donors. ● In conjunction with team administrator ensure all data and touch points are recorded accurately on the database. ● Act as a point of contact for individual Uganda-based donors requiring additional information or wanting to update details, etc. ● Assist RCD with major donor trips to Uganda. ● Present oral or written proposals to potential Uganda-based donors.

Reporting and evaluation ● Monitor and report on all communications, fundraising and advocacy events, media campaigns and promotional drives to determine the efficacy of the different approaches. ● Provide bi-monthly updates to the Regional Communications Advocacy and Fundraising Director for the monthly performance indicators and targets and contribute to the CiF annual report. Person Specification: Qualifications Essential / Desirable University Degree in Mass Communication, Development, Public Relations or Journalism (undergraduate) Essential Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a Journalism or Communications position.
