In Uganda, we implement programmes in five thematic programme areas of Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Education, Child Poverty, Health and Nutrition in Development and Emergency contexts. Role Purpose:
To support the construction of structures at field level. The position holder shall support the construction supervisor to ensure that construction works are professionally done in accordance to the designs and specifications with regards to quality, cost, time, and safety. This involves close liaison with logistics, procurement, and senior program officers in the program, as well as coordination with other operational agencies in our areas. The role will require approximately 60% time in the field site and 40% time at the field offices.

Child Safeguarding: Level 3 - the responsibilities of the post will require the post holder to have regular contact with young youth or access to children

Qualification and Experience;Essential
- A minimum of a higher diploma in Civil and Building engineering or any relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years working experience in handling construction projects generally and in emergency situation or conflict/post conflict situations in a reputable organisation, preferably an international NGO.
- Experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Humanitarian interventions.
- Ability to speak local language and directly interact with target group will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
- Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
- Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
- Availability and willingness to work extra hours during peak times of humanitarian responses.
