Social Impact is a global development management consulting firm. We provide monitoring, evaluation, strategic planning, and capacity building services to advance development effectiveness. We work across all development sectors including democracy and governance, health and education, the environment, and economic growth. Since 1997 we have worked in over 100 countries for clients such as US government agencies, bilateral donors, multilateral development banks, foundations, and nonprofits.

Proposal Objective:

SI is pursuing a three year, plus two one year option years contract to support USAID/Uganda in further strengthening the internal relationships, systems, practices and organizational culture that underpin the Mission’s effective and efficient performance in delivering and facilitating development advancements for the Ugandan people. The SOW entails:

· Strengthen individual, team, cross-team and Mission-wide capacity to more fully realize the Mission of Leaders (MOL) objectives and to deepen the practices implicit in the Guiding Principles. (~55% effort.)

· Develop, administer and help USAID benefit from diagnostic tools that will: (i) measure the individual, team, cross-team and Mission-wide effectiveness in practicing desired behaviors; and (ii) inform and help shape future organizational development interventions. (~10% effort.)

· Strengthen the quality of inter-organizational collaboration within the community of USAID/Uganda stakeholders to improve development results. (Approximately 5 percent of effort.)

· Extend leadership and organizational development support to key partners. (~10% effort.)

· Facilitate the learning that will help USAID/Uganda better understand the advantages, disadvantages, and impact of its collective and respective organizational practices and behaviors; and help transform learning into adaptation. (~15% effort.)

· Respond to emergent leadership and organizational development needs. (~5% effort.)

**Please note: This is a local position. Only candidates with Ugandan citizenship, or legal Ugandan residents are eligible to apply.

Position Description:

SI is seeking a Ugandan or local Ugandan resident Facilitator, Trainer and Training Designer to support in designing training and other professional development activities. This is a full-time position to be based in Kampala for the duration of the project. To support their qualifications, selected candidates will be requested to provide complete contact details for three references from past supervisors, subordinates and or clients.

Responsibilities:

· Design, organize and facilitating internal and external USAID meetings, workshops, town halls, etc.

· Design and conduct/help conduct Contract-relevant training courses that are substantive, engaging and motivating.

· Ensure that the Contractor is reinforcing group training with individual training and complementing traditional “classroom” training with experiential, electronic and other innovative training approaches.

· Develop and facilitate peer-to-peer and other mentorship arrangement, ensuring that Contractor activities are attuned to American and Ugandan cultures.

· Develop the Mission’s internal capacity as well as Uganda capacity to facilitate, train and design training courses.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree most preferably in social sciences; and five years of experience acting as a facilitator, trainer or training designer.

· Must be a legal resident of Uganda. S/he may be a Ugandan or an expatriate already living in Uganda.

· Minimum of five years’ experience living and working in developing country.

· Demonstrated ability to facilitate and train large groups, culturally diverse groups, and groups of senior-level executives as well as experience with innovative training, facilitation approaches and training designer.

o This must be supported by at least three references from past supervisors, subordinates and or clients.

· Experience working in the organizational development, adult learning or related fields.

· Fluent in spoken and written English language.

· Demonstrated skills in building, mobilizing, and leading multidisciplinary teams.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
