Save the Children Uganda Country Office is looking to recruit persons on a National Contract for the following positions Job Title: Laboratory Assistant (1 position)
Contract Duration: Fixed term (12 months)
Location: Arua
Contractual Status: National posting
Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they support the country programs and are/or visiting country programs.Role Purpose:
The position reports to Medical Team Leader. The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for handling all patients and specimens professionally to ensure quality diagnostic services from the laboratory.
The role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications;
Certificate in Laboratory Technology
Registered Laboratory assistant from a recognized institution
Experience in Medical Laboratory work
Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation.
Previous experience of NGO work is an advantage
